Police Auctions and Bids

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service may hold one or two public auctions a year in which to dispose of unclaimed lost and found property as well as some items seized by police.

These auctions are held at the Police Service's building during the spring and/or fall.  Dates are posted one month in advance in the local newspaper as well as on our website.  Items can generally be previewed one hour before the auction begins.

Auctions are held under the authority of the Police Services Act of Ontario.  General items such as electronics, cameras, tools, jewellery, and bicycles are commonly found at these auctions.

It should be noted that items such as firearms, weapons, medications, and hazardous materials will not be auctioned.
