Constable Donald Doucet
December 14, 1964 - May 14, 2006

On May 14, 2006, the Sault Ste Marie Police Service lost one of its finest officers and the Doucet family lost a loving husband, father, son, and brother, when Constable Donald Doucet, a 12-year veteran, was killed in the line of duty.  On the 14th of May around 2:40 am Constable Doucet was a passenger in a Police cruiser that was in a collision with another vehicle in the City of Sault Ste Marie.  Constable Doucet was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries shortly after the collision.

Constable Doucet was the first Police Officer in the history of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service to be killed on-duty.

We greatly appreciate the support that has been shown to the Doucet family and members of our Police Service.
